ThunderDog Designs is a San Francisco-based company creating custom, handmade lampshades and other decorative items with a commitment to quality and craftsmanship. By working closely with clients, we create unique and stylish items that lavish generous attention on details. The Artisan

I have always enjoyed creating things with my hands, using a variety of materials including fabric and wood. During acting studies at school, I began designing costumes and eventually developed pieces for the San Diego Comic Opera and the surrounding theatre community. I produced one of a kind creations that earned a great deal of praise with my focus on detail. In addtion to my experience with fabric, I apprenticed for several years as a woodworker in my hometown of Austin, Texas. When I moved to the Bay Area, I was able to combine many of my artisan talents when creating lamps and lampshades for interior decorators, designers, antique dealers and individual clients. I continue to make lamps and lampshades, but now also create other decorative items in fabric, wood and metal. My most recent projects have incorporated vintage kimonos and obis, decidedly beautiful materials to work with.
